Sharon & Jack

Sharon and Jack are the owners and operators of Woods Creek Ranch, located in the heart of the Kansas Flint Hills in the NE portion of the state.

Sharon grew up on a working cattle and sheep ranch on her 1870 family homestead, which is just 10 miles down the road. Horses were an integral part of growing up and living in rural Kansas.

After graduating from college (Washburn University in nearby Topeka, KS), Sharon finished her education by earning her Master’s Degree. She then moved to the West Coast to work in the corporate arena in the field of International Business, traveling the world for 20 years.



Jack is a military veteran and ran his own computer IT business for more than 20 years.

Sharon and Jack met in Washington State, where they owned and operated a large retail/wholesale nursery on 25 acres, for over 20 years.

Having traveled all over the world, Sharon returned to Kansas, the Land of OZ, with Jack (“there’s no place like home”) and started Woods Creek Ranch as a Horse Motel for folks traveling across the country with their horses and other animals.

Jack and Sharon live on the premises and can help guests in creating a comfortable environment in which can at times, be a less-than-relaxing experience travelling with horses.
